Northern Greece, Along the borders of Bulgaria, F.Y.R.O.M. (Macedonia) & Albania. This tour starts in Thessaloniki – northern Greece – perhaps a less touristy part of the country but a unique and a special one on its own. Visit Khalkidhiki with its three "fingers" or "feet", sail across Mount Athos. Continue along the shore to Kavalla. A visit to Paranesti Valley – a nature reserve, partly ecological. Then to Lake Kerkini an international bird watching center, with a possibility to visit Prespe Lakes on the border of Albania and F.Y.R.O.M. (Macedonia). The archeology site in Vergina and the Edessa waterfall should not be missed. If you still have time go to Kastoria on the lake. Thessaloniki, A western oriented town, many restaurants, cafes and modern brand stores, yet filled with relics from the Ottoman and Crusade periods. Those of you interested in Judaism will find a Jewish community, a museum and remnants that are a reminder of the glory of this Jewish community whose majority perished after the Haulocost.
